Exploring how neural hardware, embedded software, and custom control systems can turn signals into purposeful action.
A closer look at neural hardware.
INSIDE THE AMANI WORKBENCHReal hardware.
Observable behavior.
Research focus — Investigated how converging, diverging, parallel after-discharge, and reverberating neural circuits operate together. The experiments explored useful computation through individual neural frequencies.
Observed result — Frequency division was demonstrated as one circuit property. The broader research informed a computational model for designing custom control systems.
Neural Network Rover
Project focus — A physical neural network rover developed as a ground robotics platform, bringing neural hardware and robot behavior into the same experimental system.
Development period — October 2025 – April 2026. Part of the progression from circuit experiments toward integrated robotic platforms.
Drone Neural Network
System direction — Integrating neural circuits with a custom quadcopter platform, distance sensing, ESP32 communication, and frequency-based control signals.
Current stage — Hardware and control development, August 2026 – present. Flight validation remains a separate testing milestone.
Reinforcement Learning Results
Experiment focus — A bench platform exploring reinforcement learning and adjustable synaptic weights in a physical neural network. A photodiode senses obstacles on-screen and a servo actuates the jump input.
Research direction — Studying how changes to synaptic weights affect neural frequency and action timing. This experiment supports ongoing investigation of adaptive hardware control.
