EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH

Neural Circuit Architectures

Research focus — Investigated how converging, diverging, parallel after-discharge, and reverberating neural circuits operate together. The experiments explored useful computation through individual neural frequencies.

Observed result — Frequency division was demonstrated as one circuit property. The broader research informed a computational model for designing custom control systems.

HARDWARE PROTOTYPE

Neural Network Rover

Project focus — A physical neural network rover developed as a ground robotics platform, bringing neural hardware and robot behavior into the same experimental system.

Development period — October 2025 – April 2026. Part of the progression from circuit experiments toward integrated robotic platforms.

CONTROL DEVELOPMENT

Drone Neural Network

System direction — Integrating neural circuits with a custom quadcopter platform, distance sensing, ESP32 communication, and frequency-based control signals.

Current stage — Hardware and control development, August 2026 – present. Flight validation remains a separate testing milestone.

BENCH EXPERIMENT

Reinforcement Learning Results

Experiment focus — A bench platform exploring reinforcement learning and adjustable synaptic weights in a physical neural network. A photodiode senses obstacles on-screen and a servo actuates the jump input.

Research direction — Studying how changes to synaptic weights affect neural frequency and action timing. This experiment supports ongoing investigation of adaptive hardware control.

Selected experiments and prototypes developed by founder Adim Ogbolu. Silent previews loop; full videos include playback and sound controls.

Drone footage documents neural hardware and control development; flight validation remains a separate milestone.

Signals become something physical.

A glimpse into the circuits and experiments behind Amani Neural Systems.

03 / The research approach

Build it.
Measure it.
Understand it.

Our work starts with a specific question and a physical system that can help answer it.

01

Define the behavior

Identify the inputs, desired response, and measurements needed to evaluate a control or computation concept.

02

Make the experiment tangible

Bring circuits, sensors, embedded code, and mechanical components together in a testable prototype.

03

Turn observations into models

Use measured behavior to refine the design and develop a clearer understanding of the system.

04 / About Amani

An emerging lab.
A practical curiosity.

Amani Neural Systems, LLC is an independent engineering research company focused on embedded intelligence, neuromorphic computation, and experimental control systems.

Founded by Adim Ogbolu, a Penn State University Park electrical engineering student and Controls Co-op at Rolls-Royce, Amani grows from hands-on work with neural circuits, robots, and embedded hardware.
